Goings On...
Well, I received a big shock last Thursday when I found out the girl I'd been ribbing about spending too much time with seminarians/monks has finally decided to snag one. Provided, of course, he was fishing for an easy way out of Brazil, out of the monastery, and in to America, but still, the principle of the thing bothers me. How can someone as holy-holy go and nab a soon-to-be priest? Still disturbing.
Other than that little bit, I've recently posited that the only real sin in Existentialist theory is to rob someone of your fullest expression. I realized this when noting a colleaugue all out of sorts refusing to reveal any details of her condition other than that she was grumpy. I guess grumpiness does elicit some sort of empathy in the observer, but, still, there is something of truth in seeing this as a sort of existensial sin, not only against others, but also against oneself. Meaning, that if we lounge in unproductive doldrums, snapping at others to shut up because they're stupid, perhaps we need to stop and examine the reason as to why we are so...snappy.... Just a reflection from someone proud to call themseles a Foolish Freudian Rocker...someone who enjoys joy and dreads dread.....
